Marantz AV 7701
I've had my AV 7701 for about two weeks and love everything about it so far. My amps are Marantz MM 7055 and Vincent 331 for killer 2 channel audio.
Previously used B&K AVR 307, no HDMI but I used multichannel analog inputs from blu ray for HD audio.
I have always considered separate components and this is the first advancement. Definitely noticed more depth in movie HD audio. When listening to 2 channel audio, example a cd, the Vincent Amp now shines. Treble is sharper and imaging is possibly increased. I have read reviews for this amp and it was mentioned that a good processor was needed to hear its full potential, well now I have it. I love internet radio and have set my favorites, some stations audio is lesser than others but that is to be expected. I can play my itunes library through the AV 7701 but the only issue is my desktop is in another room and when I start play the volume is very loud on the AV. Marantz AV7701 Audio Video Preamp/Processor with Networking and AirPlay (Black)My Marantz AV7701 arrived on 4/5/2013. Fit and finish are great and setup was fast and easy.
I have never owned anything but separates and this was a long overdue replacement for a dying Adcom GTP880.
I am running a Carver TFM 75 driving a pair of Carver Silver Editions up front, 2 Carver TFM6C's driving JBL 2600's for sides and surrounds and another Carver TFM6C driving a Tannoy Mercury Custom center channel with 2 Sunfire Subwoofers.
Connection was easy and MOST importantly, once connected and turned on, utter silence, no hums, buzzes, or idle nose at all.
The enclosed owners manual CD loaded slowly and was difficult to navigate, it jumped several pages at a time rather than scrolling 1 page at a time so I downloaded one from the handy Marantz site and printed out all 190 pages. This is helped a great deal as the...
AV7701 Review
Running Klipsch KSP-400 mains, C6 center, KSP-300 surrounds, KSW-300 sub, Emotiva XPA-1 5 channel power block. All speakers have powered subs so 5 subs. AV7701 replaced a Denon AV5803 receiver. The results is brighter highs and midrange and tighter bass. The sound is both loud and accurate. I listen to mostly live concert Blu Ray disks of 70's music and at loud volume. Dream Theater and Evanescense too. The setup took time with phone calls to tech support every day for a week. Here is what i discovered with tech support. Run Audyssey and keep it on. Audyssey backed off my subs -12 db the max which i didn't like. I then with the help of tech support created my own settings for bass volume which is 0db and cross-overs. I run all speakers as SMALL, set the volume controls on all powered subs to oh 12 o'clock or more and set the cross-overs to 40 hz on the mains, 60 on the center and 100 on the surrounds. Just beautiful
This product was just beautiful. Rich vibrant colors, nice quality. My daughters rooms looks so inviting. The details on the duvet cover are very real feeling, perfect for the dolphin lover.

A little hard to asemble...
The instructions were hard to follow and some pieces didnt quite fit together as expected, but once its done looks great! Daughter loves it!

The frame is heavy duty, and it is well built.

Very nice color laser printer - solid, fast, heavy duty
I am very pleased with my Brother MFC-9440CN. Here are some positive and negative points:

-- Positive --

It is very easy to set up. I have it configured for access through Ethernet, and it was far easer to get set up than other network printers I've installed. Other setup options are easy to understand and set. It also supports USB and parallel connections. No printer cables are provided. Software installed quickly and without problems under Windows XP.

Black and white print quality is outstanding -- as good as any printer I've ever used.

The print speed is very good.

Is a very solid machine (it takes two people to lift it). It feels like it is built to last. (see negative comment below)

Copying is easy, and there is an option to collate copies of multipage documents (they call this "stacking").

Toner cartridges are reasonably priced on a cost/page basis.

It has a front auxiliary paper feeder...

Excellent unit!
I was looking for a device to replace my aging HP OfficeJet D145, which started to have problems printing color. I was looking for a multi-function device that can print, fax and occasionally scan. I also wanted duplex capability, so I can save paper by printing double-sided.

I read great reviews of this unit, and I saw it in action in a local store. The only thing which I wasn't clear about was the duplex capability. Amazon lists it as having this capability, but Brother's own web site does not. Since I bought this device I can positively confirm it does NOT have duplex capabilities.

Nevertheless I was not willing to step up to its bigger brother, the 9840cdw, since it's just bigger, heavier and in my opinion not as nice looking as this unit.

I was looking for a silent machine, both when it's printing but also during its sleep time. For a home office printer I don't want more noise in it. This unit is rated at 30db noise. It's whisper quiet while...
I own one: CAUTION it uses up color toner during black printing, very expensive!
You read the title right. Tech support assures me it uses up color toner even during black printing. I have tons of black toner and rarely use color but I can't even print black right now until I pay brother $XXX (edit: price removed after a while as toner prices have been dropping) for new COLOR cartridges!

The advertised costs are completely false, your will spend $XXX per toner replacement because you need to replace the color as well as black toner. I talked to two different tech support people because I really couldn't believe it. Please see the discussion on this topic, and note that the manufacturer does not disagree with me.

UPDATE 11/12/09 - Recent firmware update from brother supposedly allows for B/W printing even if you run out of color toner. If that works I will temper my opinion of this printer. Thanks to Brother for hearing our comments. Note that you have to manually apply this firmware update.

Replacements for 2008 Toyota Highlander
I'm glad I went with these premium rotors vs. the standard version. The non contact surfaces are coated for extra corrosion resistance. They went on without a hitch and the overall machining seemed on par with the OEMs. I don't regret my purchase.
